State’s Largest Christmas Parade Set for Dec. 6

Zoie Clift

The holidays are officially
here. The largest Christmas parade in Arkansas takes place Dec. 6 in El Dorado.
The parade starts at 4. Entertainment begins at 10 a.m. and can be
enjoyed until the parade begins. The route will begin at the intersection of
18th Street and North West Avenue and proceed along North West Avenue to the
downtown area until it finishes at Jefferson and Peach Streets.

Another option on the books
that day takes place at Historic Washington State Park. The 2nd Annual
Christmas and Candlelight, Southwest Arkansas’s premier Christmas event,
showcases the park at its loveliest. The entire park can be seen with natural
19th century decorations. After dark, luminaries light the way for you to
stroll the streets and see historic buildings and musicians caroling throughout
the town. This event is presented by the Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives
(S.A.R.A.)Foundation, Pioneer Washington Restoration Foundation, the City of
Washington, and the park. For more details, check out
