Whether you’re 8 or 88, seeing the first pumpkin of the year makes you realize fall and Halloween are on the way! These two events offer pumpkins galore and all the other fun things that make fall in Arkansas amazing!
Arkansas Post Museum State Park in Gillett hosts the annual Fall Fair on Oct. 7. Celebrate everything autumn at the event, which begins at 1 p.m., and features carnival games, face painting, pumpkin carving, caramel apples and other fun and games. To find out more, contact the park at 870-548-2634.
Grab your favorite little “goblin” and head to Village Creek State Park in Wynne on Oct. 28 for the park’s annual Trick or Treat at Village Creek State Park. Kids of all ages will find something fun to do with a variety of nature-themed Halloween programs, story time around the campfire and nature stations. Local businesses sponsor each decorated campsite and offer goodies for the kids. Costumes are encouraged but not required…and no scary costumes allowed. For details, give the park a call at 870-238-9406.
And the pumpkin fun is still going on at Pumpkin Hollow in Piggott and Peebles Farm in Augusta. Check out last month’s Arkansas Kids newsletter here for more information on these two great autumn attractions.
Have a safe and happy Halloween season!
