Still looking for something to do on Labor Day? Take a Beaver Lake cruise with the state park staff. Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area has a cruise planned for 6 p.m. on Sept. 6. The tours are given aboard a covered, 28-foot long pontoon boat. They originate out of Rocky Branch Recreation Area, located on Ark. 303 north. Each tour includes a park interpreter who discusses the geology, history and animals of the lake and surrounding area.
Another cruise is offered at 9 a.m. on Sept. 7, 11, 18, and 21. The cost is $10 plus tax for adults and $5 plus tax for children ages 6-12. You must have a reservation, so call ahead. You can reach the park at 479-789-5000.
