Visit Ghosts of the Blue and the Gray in Jacksonville Tomorrow

How would you like to encounter some soldiers from the Civil War? You have a chance to do so with the Reed’s BridgeHaunted Halloween Saturday, October 23 in Jacksonville. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. visitors can tour the Bloody Barn and take a Haunted Hayride. According to organizers, the tour is appropriate for families.

Refreshments are for sale. Admission is $2 per person or $8 per family. Reed’s Bridge Battlefield is located on Ark. 161. There five parking lots available marked with signs. Shuttles provided and depart from the various parking lots.

They say if you listen close on a cold dark night…

you can hear the screams from that long ago and bloody fight.

Shots ring out and cannons roar…

Gruesome specters gather to fight once more.

To cross the bridge and then turn south…

Success was theirs…the Union had no doubt!

But the Boys in Gray stood brave and strong

They fired the bridge… it burns from dusk to dawn.

Across the miles and all thru the night…

their souls return to relive the fight

So if you’re brave and if you dare…
