Weekend of Short Films in Hot Springs

The 4th annual
ARKANSAS SHORTS –a night of short film is tomorrow (Jan. 8) at the historic
Malco Theater in Hot Springs. The program of short videos is limited to natives
or current residents of Arkansas and is represented by directors from Fayetteville,
Little Rock, Clarksville and Hot Springs.
Stand out shorts include Greg
Watermann’s photo montage of rock band, System of a Down’s final concert, Marc
Byrd’s music video for his ambient band, Hammock, and a live multi-video
installation called “cinePLOSION!” by HSDFI Festival Director, Dan Anderson.
Formats for this year’s Arkansas Shorts include; music video, experimental,
documentary and narrative. The not-for-profit arts organization, Low Key Arts produces
the event and the annual Valley of the Vapors (VOV) Independent Music Festival
every March.? The event starts at 7:30 and there is an opening reception at 7.  Admission is $7 with proceeds going to
the VOV.  There is a Meet and Greet
the Directors Reception at Star Gallery following the event.
