Whitton Farms Featured on PBS Series

I know it’s only May, but it’s already been quite a year for Whitton Farms near Tyronza!

In February, owners Keith and Jill Forrester were awarded the Entrepreneur Award by the Arkansas Delta Byways tourism association during the 10th annual Arkansas Delta Awards banquet. A few weeks later, they walked away with the Boot Strap Award at the 36th annual Arkansas Governor’s Conference on Tourism.

Their vegetables and flowers are scooped up quickly by adoring fans at local farmers’ markets. Restaurants throughout the region feature their local produce and herbs in their dishes.

And after tomorrow, Whitton Farms may have a national fan base! Jill and Keith and their much-loved farm are being featured on The Endless Feast, a PBS series that allows viewers to “travel the continent, meet local farmers and food artisans, food lovers and star chefs, as we explore the connection between the earth and the food we eat, one incredible feast at a time.” Episode 203, entitled The Arkansas Delta, airs at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, on the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN). The episode was filmed this past October, when Whitton Farms hosted their OctoberFeast. OctoberFeast is a celebration of the Delta’s finest locally grown food, along with music and art. More than a dozen chefs were on hand to serve their culinary creations.
