World -renowned Percussionist and Singer Brings Sounds of African Folk Music to Texarkana

If you enjoy international music, this Saturday ( Jan. 29) is
a chance to catch a live showcase of modern African folk music. World-renowned
percussionist and singer Samite is scheduled to perform at the historic Perot
Theatre in Texarkana. The Uganda native is a master of flute and percussion and
weaves together classical guitar, a tenor voice and haunting plucked metal tones
of traditional African instruments.
The music has been described as ‘a new
sound that transcends boundaries.’ 
Samite has performed with celebrities like Wycleaf Jean and Celine Dion
and is the founder of Musicians of World Harmony. The show starts at 7:30 and

originally one of the Saenger theatres built in the mid-20s and only one of
