This marker is placed in the now empty lot where Bill Rice was born and raised on April 19, 1939. Son of Wid and Nova Rice, he would grow up and leave his hometown to become a musician and songwriter. He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994.
