Exploring the history and heritage of Arkansas can be a visit to the Upper Delta for a history lesson on civil rights or a trip to Central Arkansas to a world-renowned center with the largest assemblage of Native American expression in the world. Or, delve into early Arkansas at the Arkansas Post National Memorial in the Lower Delta or the heritage of South Arkansas that’s preserved in a museum.

The sign outside the Washington County Cane Hill College reads: Cane Hill College was the first collegiate institution of learning established in Arkansas and was founded here by Cumberland Presbyterians on October 28, 1834.
