The Mission of the Department of Parks and Tourism is:

Benefits

Our Department offers an excellent benefit package including immediate accrual of annual and sick leave, eleven paid holidays, and a contributory retirement plan. Our Department pays the major portion of medical health insurance for full-time employees and offers several medical plans from which to choose. These plans range from an indemnity plan with a PPO option to HMO's.

Other benefits include maternity leave, court and jury duty leave, military leave and a catastrophic illness leave program as well as Family and Medical leave. Employees with our Department may choose to participate in a deferred compensation plan and various options for life insurance, accident insurance, cancer care and intensive care insurance. Employees are also able to participate in the Arkansas Cafeteria Plan which is a program designed to allow an employee to pay for group health and life insurance premiums, dependent day care and out-of-pocket medical care costs tax free. All employees of our Department are also covered under workers' compensation and unemployment insurance.

Summary of Duties & Minimum Qualifications:

This position assists in the management of the golf course's clubhouse/Pro Shop and is responsible for the day to day operations of this revenue producing facility. Job duties include greeting visitors, selling merchandise, operating a cash register, reporting cash register receipts daily, keeping files and records for operations, stocking and cleaning display area, assisting in selecting and pricing resale items, and counting inventory monthly. This position also takes tee times; rents golf carts, instructs guests in course rules, and performs other duties as assigned. Applicant must be able to work a varied shift, including nights, weekends and holidays.  A criminal background check will be performed.

Food Preparation Technician

Summary of Duties & Minimum Qualifications:

 

This position rotates and maintains storage of all foodstuffs in the restaurant and supplies the cook line with clean utensils, plates, pots, pans, and food containers as needed throughout the work day. Will also assist on the cook line or as a dishwasher when needed.  Applicant must be able to work a varied schedule, including days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Administrative Specialist III

Location: Marketing and Revenue, Little Rock, AR

Summary of Duties & Minimum Qualifications:

This position collects and analyzes data from the parks as it pertains to visitation, occupancy, inventory, sales, concessionaire collections, and other revenue.  Data is collected through AASIS, email submissions, reservation system reports, and personal contact with park staff.  This position also handles clerical work such as filing, answering phones, receiving section visitors, taking notes at meetings, selling gift certificates, assisting with implementation and management of various revenue collection systems, and performing other duties as assigned.  Applicants must have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access software programs.  Knowledge of AASIS is preferred.  A criminal background check is required.
