Benefits

Our Department offers an excellent benefit package including immediate accrual of annual and sick leave, eleven paid holidays, and a contributory retirement plan. Our Department pays the major portion of medical health insurance for full-time employees and offers several medical plans from which to choose. These plans range from an indemnity plan with a PPO option to HMO's.

Other benefits include maternity leave, court and jury duty leave, military leave and a catastrophic illness leave program as well as Family and Medical leave. Employees with our Department may choose to participate in a deferred compensation plan and various options for life insurance, accident insurance, cancer care and intensive care insurance. Employees are also able to participate in the Arkansas Cafeteria Plan which is a program designed to allow an employee to pay for group health and life insurance premiums, dependent day care and out-of-pocket medical care costs tax free. All employees of our Department are also covered under workers' compensation and unemployment insurance.

MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

Production Artist

Location: Tourism, Central Office, Little Rock

This position will serve as the lead production artist for Arkansas Tourism, a division of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. The individual hired will be responsible for creative direction and production management for a variety of print and digital projects. The position will work closely with ADPT’s advertising and digital agency of record, to include playing a lead role in website management. The production artist is part of an in-house communications team and works alongside photographers, writers and public affairs specialists. Specific duties include:

 

·         Originating creative concepts for graphic communication pieces.

·         Designing and preparing comprehensive conceptual layouts and mock-ups.

·         Planning and coordinating the development of all graphic elements throughout all stages of production.

·         Preparing cost analysis studies and estimates.

·         Executing camera-ready art mechanicals and key lines while utilizing various sources within and outside the department.

·         Specifying, ordering and preparing necessary combinations of graphic art/photo/type elements in proper relationships.

·         Executing rough and final illustrative and typographic design for a variety of reproductions.

·         Designing and preparing posters, signs and exhibits for specific functions.

 

Performs other duties as assigned. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (including Outlook email and calendar functions, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and a variety of graphics/design software including the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat). Must have the ability to manage time on multiple concurrent projects.
