BONFIRE: Barbara Cade

BONFIRE is a collection of works which express Barbara’s growing concern for the Earth, making ritualistic fiber sculptures for dances that celebrated nature. The last sculptures Barbara made in 1985 were Hair Hats, so named because they were made with horse and goat hair, a way to punish those who did not honor and take care of nature. The new hats made since 2015 document specific environmental disasters. Barbara continues to document environmental incidents of her time, never running out of subject matter. Opening reception will be held Thursday, November 3.
