Meteor Shower Watch
The dark night skies of Woolly Hollow State Park offer a fantastic backdrop for the annual Geminid Meteor Shower, one of the most spectacular and busy meteor showers of the year, with up to 50 meteors per hour. Dress warmly, bring a reclining lawn chair or maybe a blanket, and perhaps a pair of binoculars if you want to look close up at constellations. This time of year is ideal to watch the skies and enjoy a peaceful retreat for a few hours. Remember, meteor showers are like fishing. You go, you enjoy nature, and sometimes you catch something. Complete cloud cover or rain will cause cancellation of this event.
