Reaching Parents: Positive Attention Boosts Self-Esteem
What to know
REACHing Parents is a series of 6 sessions targeted for families of young children. It includes FREE materials for home practice. The curriculum was developed by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and is based on the “Pyramid Model for Supporting Social-Emotional Development and Reducing Challenging Behavior.”
The goal of this series is to:
1) Provide families with background information and concrete strategies to support children’s’ social-emotional development
2) Increase parent-teacher partnerships in teaching and scaffolding social-emotional skills for school and life success
Participants are welcome to attend whichever sessions interest them (one or all!). This series is for adults-only.

October 26: Using Positive Attention Effectively
In this lesson, families will gain an understanding of how to provide appropriate and useful positive attention to young children. We’ll teach you how to use techniques proven by research to provide positive attention and reduce problem behaviors effectively.
