On Monday, Oct. 26, nearly 400 influential members of the hospitality industry will descend on Little Rock to attend the U.S. Travel Association’s 2009 Marketing Outlook Forum. The theme for the two-day conference, Moving Forward in a Changing Landscape: Reflections on the New Normal, is especially fitting during these tough economic times.

An essential gathering for the travel sector’s top decision makers from across the country, the Marketing Outlook Forum will attract delegates from convention & visitors bureaus, airlines, cruise ship companies, motorcoach firms, financial institutions, hotels, theme parks, and regional, state and federal tourism offices. “We are excited and proud to host the 2009 Marketing Outlook Forum,” said Joe David Rice, Arkansas Tourism Director. “We hope that along with the marketing knowledge and insights gained at this meeting, attendees will take home great memories of Little Rock and plan to return and experience all Arkansas has to offer.”

The Statehouse Convention Center event provides an up-to-date look at economic forecasts and outlooks for every aspect of travel. Session topics are designed to help the industry succeed in the current economic climate with topics such as marketing with tight budgets, generating sales, rebuilding business models during the recession, digital marketing, branding, and customer behavior from loyalty to spending preferences. Among the speakers for the event are Jerry Jones, owner and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys; eMarketer CEO Geoff Ramsey; and Ryan Manville, Vice President Business Insights, American Express.

Arkansas organizations sponsoring the conference include Acxiom Corporation, the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism. For complete program information, visit
