International Hoo-Hoo Headquarters and Museum
What to know
The museum, housed in a historic cabin build by the WPA in the 1930s, contains many artifacts, old timber pictures, publications, books, and memorabilia about the Hoo-Hoo organization and the timber industry. At the entrance of the building there are flags from Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. The emblematic cat, State of Arkansas flag, and the official Hoo-Hoo flag can also be found. Founded in 1892, the Concatenated Order of Hoo-Hoo is a fraternal organization of lumbermen and those in trades related to the lumber industry. Hoo-Hoo is the oldest industrial fraternal organization in the United States. At the height of the organization’s popularity, membership totaled more than 13,000.
