History of Superior Baths
The Superior was built in 1916, when Hot Springs, Arkansas, was a bustling city of men in top hats and women with parasols, waiting for their turn to bathe in thermal spring water. The seemingly magical hot water was piped out at 144 degrees into the row of bathhouses down Central Avenue. Superior Bathhouse was the “People’s Bathhouse” and is the smallest of all the bathhouses.
