Birding Basics

Serving as a hot spot for birds on their annual migrations, Lake Chicot State Park is a birder's paradise. During your stay you may wake up to songs, chirps, or screeches and if you wonder what kind of bird it may be, join the park interpreter for birding basics! We will cover the basics of using binoculars and field guides, as well as providing some tips on what to look and listen for. Binoculars and field guides are available until they run out. Warm clothes, sturdy shoes, and water are recommended.
