Audio tours offer two new ways to explore the capital city
Discover the people and places that helped shape our great state with two fascinating audio tours outlining political history and the history of the civil rights movement in Arkansas. Audio files and printable scripts are available for download, and paper maps are available at the Visitor Information Center at Historic Curran Hall and at downtown hotels. Just choose your starting location then simply look for the numbered decals embedded in the sidewalk and listen to the corresponding audio file. Press play and you’re off on an old/new adventure! The political history tour is a walkable trail through historic downtown featuring 23 locations; the civil rights tour has its own app, available on the App Store, and covers 35 sites, including Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, Mosaic Templars of America, colleges, schools, churches, and sites relating to Arkansas’s diverse ethnic and cultural heritage.
