Ozark Fall Quilt Retreat

This year’s Ozark Quilt Retreat is being held in the air-conditioned ambiance of the Bois d’Arc Conference Center, as well as in the classrooms in the Ozark Folk Center Administration Building. We are offering two classes this year, Stacky Star Quilt with Daphne Higginbotham; and Off-Center Log Cabin Quilting with Rita Madson.

The registration fee for each class is $38 which you can purchase online here, and includes admission to the Ozark Folk Center Craft Village. Also, you can look at our gallery of quilt photos you will create here!

The total cost for a quilt workshop during the Ozark Fall Quilt Retreat is $203, which includes registration, a teacher reserve cost of $50, and class fee of $115 that is due directly to your teacher on the first day of class.

After you sign up for the retreat, your teacher will contact you with more information on supplies and to see if you have any questions. At that time, most teachers ask for your reservation fee, which is refundable if the class does not have enough students to take place.

Off-Center Log Cabin Quilt taught by Rita Madson

Learn the fun and ease of paper piecing with this off-center log cabin pattern. Each package comes with 36 blocks, each finished block measures 7.5 inches. All pieces are sewn with a straight seam. Various layouts and color combinations will give your project a limitless look. Whether using fabric from your stash or buying new, black and batiks, white and brights, or pastel vintage, your quilt will be sure to be a keepsake. A package of 36 blocks for $10 is required for this class. One package makes a quilt measuring 45 x 45 inches. Additional packages will be available for those wanting a larger quilt or purchase additional fabric for borders.

Stacky Star Quilt taught by Daphne Higginbotham

Come join us for a fun class using the method of stacking several identical layers of a print fabric together and cutting into shapes that will make beautiful stars! This is a great design for a medium to large print fabric. It is always so exciting to spread the cut pieces out and see all the different design combinations you will have. Usually, no two are alike!

You will be making a throw size quilt so that you will have time to complete or almost complete it in class. An important part of this class is learning how to stack your fabric for proper cutting. You will do all of your cutting in class – NO pre-cutting at home! (Be sure you have rotary cutting experience).

$50 teacher reserve deposit should be mailed directly to me. I will send your supply list once I receive this deposit.
