Perseid Meteor Showers Viewing

Mount Magazine State Park

What to know

In 1992, the comet known as Swift-Tuttle passed relatively nearby earth as it circled around the sun. The comet Swift-Tuttle left behind remnants of ice and rock that, during some years, appear as “shooting stars” directly in front of the constellation Perseus. Mount Magazine State Park’s uniquely dark skies make for an incredible backdrop for this once-a-year occurrence.
