Grider Field/Pine Bluff Regional Airport (PBF)

What to know

Grider Field opened in 1941 as a U.S. Army Flight Training School for cadets in World War II. Training was provided for pilots of the Fairchild PT-19, PT-17 Stearmans, and P-40 Warhawks. It had five auxiliary airfields assigned for emergency and overflow landings. Gunnery training was also taught as well. The training program was deactivated on November 30, 1944. Today, Grider Field operates as Pine Bluff Regional Airport and is owned and operated by the city of Pine Bluff.
