Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau Plans Ahead for the 2024 Great North American Eclipse
Bureau encourages preparation and safety for visitors and residents alike
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 7, 2023) — The Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) is excited to announce plans for the 2024 “Great North American Eclipse,” which is set to occur on April 8, 2024.
As parts of Arkansas will be in the path of totality, visitors from all over the country are expected to flock to the state to witness this rare and unforgettable event. The LRCVB encourages visitors to plan accordingly and make necessary travel and accommodation arrangements in advance.
“We encourage people to step outside at 1:51 pm April 8, 2023, to see where the sun will be in exactly one year in an effort to plan their viewing area for the 2024 Eclipse,” said LRCVB President & CEO Gina Gemberling.
The LRCVB is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for both local residents and visitors alike. With the influx of tourists expected, it is crucial to prioritize organization and preparation to ensure a smooth and successful event. The LRCVB urges businesses and organizations planning events of their own to reach out to the LRCVB content manager at [email protected] to be featured on the bureau’s LittleRock.com website.
Organizations like the Museum of Discovery have already begun planning for the 2024 Eclipse. “In just one year, Little Rock will get a chance to see amazing science in action,” said Museum Director of STEM Initiatives Brittney Kugler-Reynolds. “The Museum will be providing hands-on teacher professional development, engaging science programming, and spectacular demonstrations leading up to the April 8, 2024 totality. This is a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon where everyone can be a scientist for a day,” she added.
