Trail of Holiday Lights

North Central Itinerary A:

Light Up an Ozark Mountain Heritage

Music, caves, nature, and Ozark Mountain heritage make Mountain View a special place to experience during the holidays.

Day 1
  1. Arrive in Mountain View, check into your hotel, motel, bed and breakfast inn or cabin. Then head downtown for some shopping.
  2. The Christmas tree and courthouse square lighting ceremonies are at 5 p.m. on December 2. Also enjoy Christmas music on the square. There are places to dine around the square and great catfish joints near the river.
Day 2
  1. Take a guided walking tour of Blanchard Springs Caverns, ranked among the 10 most outstanding in North America and one of the few developed cave systems operated by the U.S. Forest Service.  During the holidays, it offers a popular “Caroling in the Caverns” starting November 24. Buy your tickets early.
