Overview:
The only place in the world where you can dig for diamonds for a small fee and keep what you find. Some of the more notable diamonds found include: the 40.23-carat "Uncle Sam"--the largest diamond ever unearthed in the United States, the 15.33-carat "Star of Arkansas," and the 4.25-carat "Kahn Canary" diamond, worn by Hillary Clinton for two presidential and two gubernatorial inaugurals. The 3.03-carat "Strawn-Wagner Diamond" was cut to a 1.09-carat gem graded D-flawless 0/0/0, the highest grade a diamond can achieve, by the American Gem Society. Diamond Discovery Center offers an introduction to diamond hunting, equipment rentals, exhibit gallery. Diamond Springs is a mining-themed aquatic playground; camping, picnic sites, trails, wildlife observation blind, gift shop, restaurant.

Campground Details

    36 RV/Tent with W/E/S; 11 RV with W/E/S; 5 Walk-in Tent
  • Facilities:
    Visitor Center with exhibits, Diamond Discovery Center with exhibits, interpretive programs, cafe (open seasonally), picnic sites, bathhouse with restrooms, hot showers, dump station, enclosed pavilion with air-conditioning, laundry, hiking trails, amphitheater, playground, wildlife observation blind. Diamond Springs aquatic playground is open seasonally.
  • Attractions:
    Crater of Diamonds offers a one-of-a-kind park experience: the chance to find and keep real diamonds and other gems. A gem-hunting admission fee is charged. Mining tools can be rented or purchased at the Diamond Discovery Center. Park staff provide free identification and certification of diamonds.

    My family have vistied a few times and planning to go again this weekend. We love the challenge of trying to find a diamond. The relaxed atmosphere, the camping, and the water park is all family friendly. A good vacation or even just a good day-trip.

    I came here in the past and this time returned with my children. I wish we had had a full day, because it's so exciting to do. The park is clean, organized, and the staff are really nice. The water park is awesome. RV park is well laid out and modern, yet rustic. Great place to visit!!!
