Arts & Science Center in Pine Bluff Hosts Potpourri This Weekend
The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas in Pine Bluff hosts their bi-annual fundraiser this weekend. Potpourri will be held on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. The center’s Catherine M. Bellamy Theatre will be transformed into a grand ballroom, creating an extraordinary venue for the event.

On Friday night, Nov. 30, the event features music from Big Phil and the Chill, along with heavy hors d’oeuvres, margaritas, a wine and beer pull, along with a preview of some of the exceptional items featured at the silent and live auctions at the center on Saturday evening, Dec. 1.
On Saturday night, Dec. 1, the center hosts a black tie optional evening, opening with a cocktail hour and silent auction, followed by dinner and the ever-popular live auction. Tickets for the fundraiser are $60 per person on Friday night, $100 per person for Saturday evening or $150 per person for both nights. Proceeds from fund the wide range of Arts & Science Center programs, from visual and performing arts to science and engineering. Each year the center brings theatrical and musical performances, exhibits from nationally acclaimed and up-and-coming artists, the Live at 5 monthly jazz series, science and engineering exhibitions from the Arkansas Discovery Network and much more to the community.

This year’s auction items include a diamond necklace from Sissy’s Log Cabin; a Yeti cooler, grill, and other tailgate party items from MK Distributors; a Rolling Stones autographed guitar sponsored by Simmons First National Bank; a 007 movie poster autographed by all six James Bond actors and the secret agent’s weapon of choice, the Walther PPK380, sponsored by Pine Bluff National Bank; and artwork by Kevin Cole and James Hayes–among other prominent artists whose work is currently on exhibition at the Arts & Science Center.
