Head to Camp in June!
School is out…and it’s time to have some fun! Arkansas State Parks in eastern Arkansas are gearing up for summer and several are offering special camps just for the kids.
Village Creek State Park in Wynne offers two Outdoor Adventure Day Camps this month. The camp for kids ages 7-9 is scheduled for June 8-10. For those ages 10-12, the fun takes place June 22-24. Each camp includes a variety of educational and recreational programs designed to get your child outside to discover the wonders of the natural world. The cost includes food, crafts, and all activities. Space is limited and preregistration is required.
Kids ages 8-12 can join the staff from Parkin Archeological State Park in Parkin for three days of fun and learning on June 17-19 for the Children’s Day Camp. Part of the camp takes place at Parkin but also includes trips to other parks and attractions in the area. Activities include swimming, boating, fishing, games, crafts, and much more. Limited space is available. The fee of $75 covers meals, snacks, admissions, and equipment rentals for all three days.
Davidsonville Historic State Park in Pocahontas hosts a History and Adventure Camp on June 17-19. In celebration of Davidsonville’s 200th anniversary, the fun and educational camp will feature games and activities focusing on the history of the town and the life of the residents. This camp is open to youngsters from 8-12. Preregistration is required.
