King Biscuit lineup announced
Get ready! The lineup for the 31st annual King Biscuit Blues Festival in historic Helena has just been announced! The dates for this year’s festival are Oct. 5-8.

The Main Stage headliner for Thursday, Oct. 6, is Sonny Landreth with special guest Roy Rogers. Sonny Landreth is known as “the King of Slydeco” because of his strong zydeco influence. Eric Clapton has called him one of the most advanced guitarists in the world and one of the most under-appreciated. Roy Rogers is considered one of the world’s premier slide guitarists performing today. He has received Grammy nominations as an artist, composer and producer. Rogers has worked with musical legends such as Carlos Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt, Steve Miller, Sammy Hagar, and Ray Manzarek. Other performers on Thursday, Oct. 9, include Reba Russell, Eric Gayes, Sterling Billingsley, Johnny Sansone, and Heavy Suga & The SweeTones.

British blues legend John Mayall makes his debut at King Biscuit as the Main Stage headliner on Friday, Oct. 7. Known as “the Godfather of British Blues,” Mayhall is considered a pioneer of blues music and lists such Delta greats as Sonny Boy Williamson, Albert King, and Muddy Waters as influences. Also performing on Oct. 7 will be Anson Funderburgh, Mike Zito, Kenny Neal and Mike Wheeler.

The legendary Charlie Musselwhite takes to the Main Stage as the headliner on Saturday, Oct. 8. Born in Mississippi and raised in Memphis, Musselwhite left the South and headed to Chicago, where he met and worked with such legends as Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson and Howlin’ Wolf. This year marks the 50th anniversary of his legendary debut album. Also performing from the Main Stage that day will be Blind Mississippi Morris, Toronzo Cannon, the Peterson Brothers, and Kathy G and the Girls.
