Mississippi River State Park Announces April Events
April is a great time to get out and enjoy our Arkansas State Parks. The Mississippi River State Park in Marianna is offering several fun events this month.
On Saturday, April 11, the park is hosting a Great American Clean-up event. Volunteers are invited to come out and assist with the clean up of the shoreline around Bear Creek Lake. Trash bags and gloves will be provided. Help keep the lake beautiful!
The park hosts a Dutch Oven Brunch Cooking Workshop on April 18. The hands-on class offers participants the chance to learn the basics of Dutch Oven cookery. The cost of the workshop is $12.
April 25 is the date for the next Kayak Tour of Bear Creek Lake. Kayaking is one of the best ways to explore the scenic lake. Everyone is welcome, regardless of your kayaking skill level. The class will cover basic paddling techniques before participants take to the water. The cost is $12 and includes kayak rental.
On the evening of April 25 is Exploring the Night Sky. Bring your blanket or lawn chair and join a park interpreter and explore the night sky. Learn how different cultures used the night sky as a calendar, a compass and a way to share their stories.
