Often cited as a catalyst for an entire movement in the country rock and American roots music, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (Jeff Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter, John McEuen) continues to add to their legendary status. With multi-platinum and gold records, strings of top ten hits such as “Fishin’ in the Dark” and “Mr. Bojangles”, multiple Grammy, IBMA, CMA Awards and nominations, the band’s accolades continue to accumulate.

The group formed as a jug band in southern California in 1966. Considered one of the longest-running country-rock groups of their time, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, including original band members Hanna and Fadden, has been making music for nearly five decades. They’ve produced more than 20 studio albums and multiple platinum records.

The band’s groundbreaking “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” album was brought back to life nearly 30 years after its original release and inducted into the U.S. Library of Congress as well as the Grammy Hall of Fame. Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s recording of “Mr. Bojangles” was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2010. Currently, they are touring in support of their most recent release, the critically acclaimed album “Speed of Life.”
