No Turkey…DUCKS!

For many folks, Thanksgiving means turkey. But in the Arkansas Delta, especially in Stuttgart, it means DUCKS! The 79th annual World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest and Wings Over the Prairie Festival kicks into full-gear on Friday, Nov. 28, in downtown Stuttgart!

The festival is one of the most well known in Arkansas. Visitors from around the region “flock” to Stuttgart for the event. There’s literally something for everyone, ranging from the duck calling contests to the carnival midway to the World Championship Duck Gumbo Cook-off. There’s also the outdoor exhibits, an arts and craft fair and the Great 10K Duck Race.

Related events will be held throughout the week, starting Saturday, Nov. 22. The carnival and midway officially open on Wednesday, Nov. 26, which is armband day. Later that night, it’s the Youth Duck Calling Contest at 6 p.m. On Thursday, the midway opens at 1 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 28, is chock-full of exciting events and activities. The exhibits, midway, arts and crafts fair, and the sporting collectibles show open at 10 a.m. Several of the duck calling contests are being held beginning at 11 a.m. At 8 p.m. it’s the Sportsman’s Party at the Grand Prairie Center.

On Saturday, Nov. 29, it’s the Great 10K Duck Race beginning at 8 a.m. The exhibits, booths, carnival and the sporting collectibles show open at 9 a.m. The duck calling contests begin at 9 a.m. from the main stage. The World Championship Duck Gumbo Cook-off begins at 11 a.m. The 79th annual World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest begins at 2 p.m. The carnival, booths and collectibles show are open until 8 p.m.
