Clement Clarke Moore wrote his poem depicting a visit from St. Nicholas in 1822. Today, young and old from across the world know the poem word for word. In December, Moore’s poem is brought to life with live theater performances in Forrest City and Stuttgart.

December 1 is the date for “Twas the Night Before Christmas” in Forrest City  at East Arkansas Community College’s Fine Arts Center. The charming Christmas musical, presented by Theatre IV of Richmond, Virginia, is complete with a jolly Santa, reindeer on the roof, moonlight on the snow, Ma and Pa in their caps, and sugarplums dancing in the dreams of hopeful children. The show starts at 3 p.m.

The Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre on Tour performs “Twas the Night Before Christmas” at the Grand Prairie Center on the Phillips Community College/University of Arkansas campus in Stuttgart on Dec. 15.

The company has been recognized as one of America’s best regional theatre companies. This tale of St. Nick will put audience members of all ages in the holiday spirit! Tickets are $9 for children and $13 for adults.
