Fun Family Festivities Featured in June

Kick off the start of the summer season at the 33rd annual Portfest in Newport with the excitement of live music and fireworks. Held along the banks of the White River at Jacksonport State Park on June 5-7, Portfest’s features live music on Friday night. Saturday’s events include a large carnival, activities for children, a bass tournament and arts and crafts and live music. Saturday evening concludes with a fireworks extravaganza. This year’s headliners are Blackfoot and the Marshall Tucker Band on Friday, June 6, and Sammy Kershaw on Saturday, June 7. 

Downtown Wynne is the site for the 38th annual Farm Fest on June 12-14. The festival features barbecue cooking contests, arts and crafts, games and rides for the kids, an antique tractor show and much more. 

Celebrate Des Arc’s river heritage during the 29th annual Steamboat Days on June 5-7! This year’s event features live entertainment on Friday and Saturday, a crawfish eating contest, activities just for kids, a car show, arts and crafts, a 5K run, a carnival and more. 

Village Creek State Park in Wynne offers Family Fun Day on June 7. The event is a day of outdoor adventures throughout the park. Visitors of all ages can enjoy kayak tours, hikes and geocaching challenges. 

June is a great time to get out and explore the eastern section of The Natural State!
