July in eastern Arkansas brings families, fun and fireworks together in a month-long celebration of summer!

Spend the Fourth of July in downtown historic Pocahontas as the community hosts Stroll the Square Gallery Walk on July 4 from 6-8 p.m. Stroll the Square is a monthly event dedicated to showcasing the downtown businesses and local artists. Participants can meet and greet artists, watch demonstrations, enjoy live music and sample great food. This month’s event is patriotic themed and features a community picnic. Travel the former route of the Missouri Pacific’s Delta Eagle passenger train by bicycle on July 6 when the Delta Heritage Trail State Park near Helena-West Helena hosts Bike the Rail on July 6. A park interpreter leads participants along the path, exploring some of the area’s diverse history and natural beauty. The bike ride takes about two hours and covers approximately 10 miles. Have a ding-dong of a great time at the 34th annual Ding Dong Days Festival in Dumas on July 25-28! Watch as the Ding Dong Daddy and Ding Dong Momma are crowned. Join in for the Ding Dong eating contest. The festival also features rides and activities for children, a parade, live entertainment, and a variety of booths and concessions.
