It’s “pumpkin time” in the Arkansas Delta

September is here! Let’s get ready for some fall fun. Especially fun that includes pumpkins, corn mazes and scarecrows!
It’s the 13th annual Fall Festival at Peebles Farm in Augusta on Sept. 22-Oct. 31. The farm features fun activities for the entire family including a 60-acre pumpkin patch. You’ll also find hay rides, horse and wagon rides, cotton picking, play area with slides, tire swings and tunnels, tractor-driven train rides, duck races, and a corn cannon. Check out the concession area for a snack at the pavilion. Enjoy the beauty of six acres of sunflowers (a great photo op!) and make your way through the 16-acre “Arkansas the Bountiful” corn maze. Make plans on weekend nights for nighttime trips through the maze featuring bonfires, as well as the normal daytime activities.
Pumpkin Hollow turns 25 this fall! The 25th annual Pumpkin Hollow Pumpkin Patch Festival kicks into gear on Sept. 16 near Piggott. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by colorful gourd head scarecrows who invite everyone to sit for a photo opportunity (photo ops abound all around the farm). This year, a brand-spanking new Kids’ Barn offers even more entertainment and educational opportunities. Spend a beautiful autumn day enjoying all the fun including the corn mazes, hayrides, catfish feeding, farm animals, the Friendly Forest, pond slides, and the Country Bumpkin Playground. On weekends, enjoy pony rides, pig scrambles and the kids’ barrel trail rides, as well as the Pumpkin Hollow Zipline.
And don’t miss the “Weenie Wag’n” for some tasty treats and especially the “made from our own pumpkins” desserts and signature cider slushies. Pumpkin Hollow is open through Oct. 31. Pumpkin Hollow continues its horrifying haunted attractions such as Bubba’s Butcher Barn, the Forest of Fright, Frightmare Farmhouse and the Zombie Paintball Patrol. Believe me, this isn’t for the younger kids OR the faint at heart. But for those that ENJOY being scared, it’s a must-do!
