State Parks Offer First Day Hikes on New Year’s Day

Arkansas State Parks throughout the North Central Ozarks and the Arkansas Delta will offer First Day Hikes for the entire family on Jan. 1.

First Day Hikes are part of a national health and outdoor awareness movement. Take the entire family to join in with others across Arkansas and the nation who will enjoy the scenic outdoors on New Year’s Day.

On Jan. 1 of this year, 22,022 First Day Hikers logged a total of 43,911 miles across the United States, with hikes ranging from one to nine miles round-trip.

The annual event, sponsored by the 50 state park systems throughout the nation, highlights our state parks as providing year round recreation and promoting healthy lifestyles.
