Tri-Peak Parks Offer July Fun & Games
The Arkansas River Valley has numerous fun programs for kids in July along with other fun attractions to visit while you’re in the area.
Mount Nebo State Park in Dardanelle offers Independence Day Fun at 1 p.m. on July 3. Other attractions in the area include: Council Oak; Dardanelle Confederate Monument; Dardanelle Rock; Holla Bend National Wildlife Refuge; and Lion’s Den Golf Club.
Lake Dardanelle State Park in Russellville has a 4th of July Programs planned for July 4. This park offers bass fishing, boat ramps, hiking trails, lake tours, pavilion, visitor center with interactive exhibits, campground, marina, and miniature golf. In the area, check out Bona Dea Trails & Sanctuary; Historic Missouri-Pacific Depot; Hog Wild Family Fun Center; Hog Wild Too; John Daly’s Discount Golf Shops; Old Post Mountain Bike Trail; and Old Post Road Recreation Area & Campground.
Near Morrilton, Petit Jean State Park’s July 4th Fun & Games takes place July 4. The flagship of the state parks system, this park was built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps and features newly remodeled Mather Lodge and Restaurant, cabins, swimming pools, campground and fly-in campground, boating and fishing on Lake Bailey, and visitor center exhibits. It has 20 miles of hiking trails and 95-foot-high Cedar Falls, the park’s focal point. Area attractions include: Barnyard Friends & Stables; Camp Mitchell Conference and Retreat Center; Morrilton Golf and Country Club; Morrilton Historic District; Museum of Automobiles; Petit Jean Country Store; and Rockefeller Legacy Gallery.
