Crawfest Time in Arkadelphia!

Looking for a fun festival to head to? If so, the Downtown Arkadelphia Crawfest is April 29-30! According to Tiffany McNeal of the Arkadelphia Regional Economic Development Alliance, the festival weekend has a lineup that includes a crawfish eating contest, a crawfish boil, a 5K and 10K run, vendors, games, and live music. The festival is located downtown on Main Street.

As to a few specifics, the crawfish boil starts at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with live music until 9 p.m. A highlight of the festival, the crawfish eating competition, takes place that night at 6 p.m. Afton Oelmann, who won the competition last year, is set to serve as the Emcee. On Saturday, the 5k and 10k races start at 8:30 with a kids run at 10:30 a.m.

For those wanting to make the venture to town, Arkadelphia is around 65 miles from Little Rock, 40 miles from the Crater of Diamonds State Park, and 25 miles from Hot Springs. While in town, you can check out nearby attractions like the DeSoto Bluff TrailJuanita’s Candy Kitchen, and DeGray Lake Resort State Park
