Eclipse 2024: Arkansas' Lower Delta
The event in this article has already occurred and you can find other great happenings on our events page.
Mark your calendar for April 8, 2024! That's when Arkansas will experience its first total solar eclipse since 1979. The Great North American Eclipse will bring "darkness" to the entire state, even those areas not directly in the path of totality (the narrow track where full darkness occurs) will experience a nearly 3-hour partial eclipse.
For those wanting to experience the beauty of The Natural State and a historic celestial event, Arkansas' Lower Delta is a great option. Spend a few days at any of the great towns in the region (like Stuttgart, Pine Bluff, Monticello, Helena-West Helena or Lake Village) before heading toward the path of totality for the total solar eclipse experience.
Planning a visit a few days before the eclipse gives travelers an opportunity to experience the history and scenic beauty of the Lower Delta region before heading toward the path of totality to experience the event.
Communities outside the path of totality will also be hosting festivals and special events leading up to the Great North American Eclipse on April 8, 2024.
Spend a few days in the Lower Delta and then head toward the eclipse path!
