Glenwood is located in Pike County and is around 30 miles west of Hot Springs. The town is located near the Caddo River in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains.

The town is near many recreational outlets such as the Caddo River and the Ouachita National Forest. Canoe outfitters can be found in town as well as attractions such as the Glenwood Country Club & Lodge, which is one of Arkansas’ only courses that has on site lodging. The town is also near Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, Mount Ida and Daisy State Park. Glenwood is centrally located between three major lakes: Greeson, Ouachita, and DeGray.
