Since that time, the “eagle killer that lives on hydrilla” has claimed unknown numbers of bald eagles, coots, owls, fish, and turtles, to name a prominent few species. Thanks to the detective work of a handful of persistent scientists spanning multiple continents, the culprit – “an insidious combination of factors” – has finally been identified. Live from Germany, Dr. Timo Niedermeyer, professor at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenburg will share his firsthand account of the saga as one of the leading scientists responsible for solving this previously unsolved mystery.
