Louisiana Purchase State Park Guided Hike

Join us to experience the natural Delta landscape the 1815 surveyors encountered. Find out how the initial point was created and discover a granite monument that was dedicated to commemorating this event in 1926. We also will explore how the roots of the initial point run deep from conflicts around the distant world on an informative 0.5-mile barrier free (ADA) hike led by a park interpreter on an elevated boardwalk above the swamp. Please wear footwear and clothes you are comfortable hiking in and bring sunscreen, insect repellent and drinking water as none is available at the site. Children are encouraged to attend but must be accompanied by an adult.
