First Day Hike

Start your year right with a breath of fresh air in the outdoors! Meet a park interpreter at the Big Bluff trailhead on Powerhouse Road just beneath Bull Shoals Dam. We will hike approximately 2 hours on the moderately strenuous Big Bluff Trail, and plan to complete the 1.75-mile hiking loop. The terrain is rocky so wear comfortable walking shoes, dress in layers for the weather, and bring water & snacks; you may also wish to bring a pair of binoculars. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash for the duration of the hike. Start planning now and encourage family and friends to join you in this nationwide celebration of America’s State Parks!
