Kayaking 201

Bull Shoals-White River State Park

What to know

Whether you are new to the sport of kayaking or an avid paddler, there are always ways to improve your kayak skills and safety awareness. Designed to complement our Kayaking 101 course, this next-level workshop will be divided into dry land instruction and hands-on practice in boats on Bull Shoals Lake. Topics will address advanced paddling strokes and practice the techniques necessary for self and team rescues in the event of a capsize. Bring a water bottle, snack, appropriate clothing for swimming, and water shoes that stay securely fastened. Due to the nature of the course, all participants must be at least 18 years of age, in good physical condition and must be able to swim. Lifejackets are provided and are required to be worn. Space is limited! Pre-register at the James A. Gaston Visitor Center or call (870) 445-3629.

COVID-19 SAFETY GUIDELINES ARE IN EFFECT FOR GUEST AND STAFF SAFETY. SPACE MAY BE LIMITED.
