Kayaking Workshop

James A. Gaston Visitor Center

What to know

In celebration of June as "Great Outdoors Month", come learn the basics of kayaking: safety, gear, the different kayaking strokes, and how to make a wet exit (optional) and rescues will all be discussed. There will be two hours of dry land instruction and three hours on the water. We will meet at the James A. Gaston Visitor Center, but the on-water session will be at Brown's Beach on Bull Shoals Lake. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet, preferably water shoes. Bring a water bottle/drink and sack lunch or snacks for the session. Dress for the weather. All other gear is provided. Children under 13 must be in a tandem boat with an adult. Space is limited! Preregister at the James A. Gaston Visitor Center or call (870) 445-3629. #greatoutdoors
