Project Learning Tree Teacher Workshop
What to know
Project Learning Tree is an environmental education program for anyone who teaches youth. PLT activities help develop students’ knowledge of the environment and encourage them to care for our natural resources. Participants will receive an “Explore Your Environment: K-8 Activity Guide,” which includes 50 hands-on, multi-disciplinary activities to connect children to nature and increase their awareness and knowledge about our natural world. Activities in this guide are built around these national education standards: NGSS, ELA & Mathematics Common Core, and the C3 Framework for Social Studies. Topics include trees, forests, wildlife, water, energy, climate change, community planning, invasive species and more. Teachers and informal educators can easily integrate these activities into their classrooms and educational programs. Participants must stay for the full 6-hour training in order to receive the curriculum guide and the 6 hours of PD. Pre-registration is required. To register, send an email to [email protected] with your name and contact information.
