What to know
"Picturing Aransas: Depictions of Its People in Art, Photography, Literature, Music, and Media" is this year's theme. The presentation will be on a broad array of topics from all time periods that explore how the people of Arkansas have been depicted in art, photography, literature, music, and the media. According to CALS Encyclopedia of Arkansas, "Heber Springs, the county seat of Arkansas' youngest county, has been identified as a tourist area from the beginning. Even before the town was formed, the area was known for its mineral springs. Since the formation of Greers Ferry Lake on the Little Red River in the early 1960s, the town has become a popular resort for camping, boating, and other water sports."
