Becoming a Birder
Logoly State Park
What to know
Over 100 different types of birds have been observed at Logoly State Park, making it a true birding hot spot of southwest Arkansas. This spring, the park's forests will be filled with the cheerful songs of our feathered friends. Join park staff on an adventure into this world of the birds as part of an annual birding workshop. This workshop consists of a leisurely hike to birdy sites within the park, where visitors are encouraged to use their eyes and their ears while seeking out these songsters. During this hike, visitors will see the diversity of the park's birds and learn about the journeys they have undertaken to get to Logoly State Park. After the hike, there will be a tally rally, where the birds seen are added up and entered into citizen scientist outlets. There is a modest fee for this workshop that covers the price of a field guide and materials. Binoculars and cameras are not required but are encouraged. Space is limited, so call ahead and reserve your spot.
