Great Backyard Bird Count: Day 3
Logoly State Park
What to know
Join park staff at Logoly State Park for a weekend celebration of birding. The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual, global event that encourages everyone to get out and bird. Not only is this a fun event, but the data obtained from the four days of birding is used by bird researchers throughout the world. Each day of this event features a variety of birding programs, including birding hikes, feeder watching, and ID workshops. On Sunday, Day 3 of the count, there will be a birding hike from 9-11 a.m., a bird feeding demo and program from 12-1 p.m., and an owl prowl from 6-7 p.m. Although you don't need binoculars or cameras to attend, they aren't discouraged. We do recommend that you bring a decent pair of walking shoes for the hikes and a flashlight for the owl prowl, as well as warm clothes. This event is open to all ages and all skill levels of birders, whether beginner or advanced. Call the park or stop by to find out more.
