Ozark Spring Quilt Retreat - Free Motion Quilting on Your Domestic Machine

Learn the basics of Free Motion Quilting on your domestic sewing machine! This class/workshop will include the following:

•   .  What threads and needles work best for your machine
•   .  Working with cotton/poly batting and all poly batting
•   .   Marking your quilt and marking tools
•   .   Learn hand & machine stitch co-ordination -------machine tension
•   .   Practice the Stippling design
•   .   Practice the “L” & “E” designs
•   .   Practice the “Teardrop” design
•   .   Practice the “Swirl” design
•   .   Practice the “Basket Weave” design

All of these practice designs will be done on practice quilt sandwiches. Once you have learned how to complete some of these designs and feel confident enough to quilt, you can start quilting on a sample project that you bring from home! This will be a work at your own pace class. If we have time for more involved designs, we will try them out!

You will need a machine that allows you to drop the feed dogs. You will need the darning foot or hopping foot for your machine. For the Basket Weave design, you will need a walking foot. A complete supply list will be sent upon registration.

Age minimum: 18

Total cost of class - $202.75:

• Registration fee $37.75
• Teacher reserve deposit $50.00 to be mailed directly to the instructor. Deposit will be refunded upon class cancelation. Register early so you will have plenty of time to gather your fabrics.
• Class fee $115 to be paid to Daphne on first day of class. Daphne accepts cash or check.
