What to know

Learn the basics of tinsmithing with emphasis on hand forming as well as machine forming various shapes. This is a hands-on class where you will take flat sheets of tin plate and learn to cut, fold, seam, solder, and rivet together various pieces of tinware. Projects include: cookie cutters, scoops, candle holders, various kitchen wares, tankards, and a Civil War era tin cup, and if time allows, a coffee pot. Most students make and take home several (6 to 8 or more) pieces of tinware. All tools, machines, and supplies are provided by the teacher. If you have your own tools that you want to use, you are welcome to bring them. Close-toed shoes are required. This class is limited to 6 students.

This three-day class teaches the basics of tinsmithing. Students will have the option to add on two more days to create even more tinware. If you would like to stay for the additional two days and make this a five-day class, there is an additional class and materials fee of $170 due to Robert at the beginning of the course.

The registration fee is to be paid upon sign up. The class and materials fee is due to Robert at the beginning of class. He accepts cash or check.
